Apologies for the textspeak – and this will probably only interest you if you are interested in the advertising Industry. The professional association of Advertising -the IPA –  has launched a ‘diagnostic tool’ to help people assess if they are creative. Apparently it takes 90 minutes to complete and can be used as part of an application to get into advertising. Its called Diagonal Thinking.

Credit Crunch and Postdocs

December 19, 2008

Request from a journalist

I am researching an article for NatureJobs about how the current economic crisis impacts postdocs’ prospects for employment. I am wondering if you might be able to help me get a better understanding of what’s going on in the UK.

I am interested in speaking with:

postdocs having trouble finding work–either in academia or the    private sector–because of the economy.

career advisors and/or faculty who advise postdocs about employment.

I am really focusing on postdocs prospects for getting jobs over    the next few months. As such, I would sincerely appreciate any insight you can share about what’s happening in the UK, as well as suggestions of other people to talk with.
