“They are like McKinsey but they do people stuff and the return is immediate”, is how one client described Chemistry’s services. Given 70% of our revenue is from management consulting fees, we work globally, our people are bright and our multi-national FTSE 100 client list find us an essential partner, we kinda get the McKinsey comparison. Then again we don’t have any oak paneling, we prefer our Wii, XBox and Mac kitted out, yet rurally chic offices in Binfield.
We are looking for razor bright graduates (fresh or a bit of wear) to join our business. For a clue to the environment read this blog entry http://tinyurl.com/ykmoc36
You will:
• Work like you are possessed, on the right things
• Treat our customers like they are the centre of your universe
• Treat your colleagues like they are your blood kin
• Enjoy every minute of what we believe is the best place to work on the planet
You have:
• A HUGE BRAIN, seriously immense, one caveat you need to be able to tie your own laces
• Cool TECH skills, one finger typing and “what’s Twitter?” like questions aren’t allowed
• You are a SPONGE – not a deep sea type, but an information absorbing one
• HUMILITY – to listen, learn, improve (and repeat)

Fans of Jorge Cham – don’t forget that he is coming to New Hunts House next Tuesday at 5.30. You can register on the Graduate School website. His topic is ‘the power of procrastination’ According to a recent scholar (Peers, Psychological Bulletin 2007, vol 133,No 1,65-94) “Procrastination is a prevalent and pernicious form of self-regulatory failure that is not entirely understood.” You can say that again!

Job description Please note this vacancy is located in Sweden. Who we are: The headquarters in Basel is one of Roche’s largest sites. It is home to the Corporate Executive Committee, the Pharmaceuticals and Diagnostics Divisions and the global business functions. Roche Basel also covers the entire business chain from research, development and production through to marketing. Over 8,000 people from more than 60 countries work at the site. The Position: The Drug delivery group is comprised of about ten researchers of which half are PhD’s, performs research of highest international standard and is among the most cited in the world in the fields of pharmacy and pharmacology. The research is founded on in vitro studies of ADMET (absorption, distribution, metabolism, elimination, toxicity) properties of drugs. Expertise in physiologically based pharmacokinetic modeling (PBPK) and structure-property relationships will contribute to the project. In the research group, models based on differential equations for advanced analysis of cellular pharmacokinetics are currently developed. The overall goal of the project is to develop transparent in silico models for how structural changes in drug molecules influence pharmacokinetic ADMET-properties. The models will be linked to existing PBPK-models in close collaboration with researchers at Roche. The main motive for developing this software is to expand the use of in silico simulations for structure effect relationships (SER) also to chemist for the purpose ofi) predict PK data from the molecular structures of new drug candidates andii) investigate the impact of structural modifications on such data. Thus, so-called ‘what-if’-functionalities should be built into the software. Who you are: You’re someone who wants to influence your own development. You’re looking for a company where you have the opportunity to pursue your interests across functions and geographies, and where a job title is not considered the final definition of who you are, but the starting point. The project is based on collaborations between different disciplines. Excellent social skills, flexibility and ability for seamless collaborations as well as independent work are required. The researcher is expected to perform high quality research, to publish the results, and to contribute to the initiation and development of research collaborations within the research field. He/she is also expected to contribute to related research projects within the research group, to participate actively in seminars and research discussions, take own initiatives and to contribute to the future development of the research program in the research group.
