Salary: £28,000 – £34,000
The Mo Ibrahim Foundation is looking to recruit a highly competent, proactive and self-driven person to fill the position of Senior Analyst. Working in close collaboration with the small Research Department she/he will contribute to the effective and efficient production and delivery of the Ibrahim Index of African Governance and Ibrahim Forum. The suitable candidate will demonstrate experience in collecting, computing, analysing, interpreting and presenting statistical data, and producing written research findings.
Skills, Competencies, Experience and Qualifications:
• Advanced university degree (Masters degree or equivalent) in economics, development studies, political science, social science or related field;
• Minimum of 4 years experience;
• Experience in research methodologies, statistical methods and analysis, including the presentation of statistical data;
• Interest in, and knowledge of, African development and governance;
• Fully IT and Internet literate. Excellent computer skills, particularly MS Office package (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point) and statistical packages (SPSS, Stata);
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English language required, other United Nations languages highly desirable);
• Ability to translate technical information for a non-technical audience;
• Strong organisational skills;
• Detail-oriented with an ability to manage time well;
• Demonstrated capacity to handle a variety of multiple concurrent activities;
• Comfortable working as part of a team but also able to work well independently;
• Self-starter with a proactive attitude and who can anticipate needs.
