Graduate Lounges

October 29, 2007

We are setting up a series of Graduate Lounges, exclusively for the use of postgraduate students at King’s. Access to these lounges will be via swipe card. In order to get access, please sign up via the ‘Graduate Lounges’ icon on the VLE.

Changes

October 22, 2007

I’ve deleted a couple of things from the Postgraduate Online Common Room. I’ve also added a couple of new things, including a Nobel Prize Split Brain Experiment, and a charming cure for boredom. In addition, I’m likely to delete the online discussion forum shortly, as people are using the ‘Who’s Online’ facility and the link to the King’s Postgraduates page on Facebook to get in touch with each other. I may relaunch the online discussion forum in the new year, when I’ve had a chance to think how it might be done better. Your suggestions are, as always, most welcome.

The core code of practice

October 18, 2007

Hello,
The core code of practice for research degrees is available here by clicking on the bold text below. Those of you you were at today’s Graduate School course, ‘Starting your PhD: Humanities and Social Sciences,’ will already have some idea of what the code entails.

Today’s face-to-face course will be repeated in the new year, and you can find details of more face-to-face courses on the Graduate School VLE.

Cold Drinks

October 15, 2007

King’s postgraduates and mature students meet in the Stamford Arms each Monday evening. I believe it’s organised by King’s postgraduate Facebook community, who you can contact through the Postgraduate Online Common Room. The pub is at 62 Stamford St, London, SE1 9LX.

Developments

October 12, 2007

logo_kcl21.gifI’ve deleted a couple of things from the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) today, and I’ve added some new stuff. This is going to be a feature of the VLE as it develops. If there’s anything that you’d like to be made available here, just let me know.
