The NIHR Collaboration for Leadership in Applied Health Research and Care (CLAHRC) for northwest London seeks to recruit recent graduates who are forward thinking, self motivated and willing to work in a fast moving, multi-disciplinary team to deliver change. This post will be a critical support role to the delivery of diverse innovation and health improvement projects.

You will be expected to undertake the role flexibly. It is expected that you will have formal training or experience to degree level or equivalent and have the relevant and necessary computer software aptitude. You will assist clinical and non-clinical programme staff in daily activities, projects and deadlines.

Within the core team there are 14 members to support with additional support for clinical projects across northwest London. You will have the opportunity to develop further work according to your personal interest and experience.

You will be expected to show potential and develop skills in leadership, be quick thinking and responsive, motivated, proactive and innovative in problem solving with a can-do attitude.

Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) is the leading research funding agency in Japan, established by the Japanese Government for the purpose of contributing to the advancement of science.

JSPS plays a key role in the administration of various scientific and academic programmes, whilst expanding bilateral exchange between Japan and the United Kingdom. In cooperation with the Nominating Authorities (the Royal Society and the British Academy), JSPS provides the opportunity for outstanding young researchers to conduct cooperative research with leading groups at Japanese Universities and Institutions for a period of between 1 – 2 years.

The Royal Society and the British Academy are given a quota by JSPS and they operate all application procedures.

The fellowship is worth a maximum of £62,000 (tax exempt for two years) and includes: •Return air ticket •Insurance •Living expenses A further £1,000 is available for Japanese language training and the KAKENHI Grant worth up to £30,000 can be applied for to cover research support costs.

Exploring Graduate Entry into Medicine

Medical careers are now open to a wider range of people than ever before. Accelerated medical courses are designed specifically to train graduates with a non-medical degree as doctors.

This course will help you to find out about:

  • Specific degrees, by talking to admissions staff, course organisers and medical students
  • The major differences between the courses offered
  • How to fund your medical degree
  • Writing a successful application form and support statement
  • The various entrance exams schools use.

 

The day will consist of:

  • Presentations – from representatives of key medical schools
  • Networking Session – with admission tutors and staff
  • Medical Student panel – to which you can ask questions on what it is like to do an accelerated medical degree.

DLHE Temporary Telephone Callers (January- March 2010)

The Destinations of Leavers of Higher Education (DLHE) survey is an annual national project, collecting information on graduate destinations after university. We are now looking to recruit a team of enthusiastic callers for our DLHE Call Centre.

The call centre will run from our central offices in Russell Square, on Mondays-Thursdays from 11 January- 11 February 2009. Shifts will run from 1.00pm-5.00pm and 5.00pm-9.00pm (breaks will be included within shifts). You must be able to work a minimum of four shifts per week.

A meticulous team worker with the ability to keep accurate and legible records, you will possess both a good telephone manner and the ability to communicate effectively in English. The ability to speak any additional languages would be advantageous. Full training will be provided at the start of the call centre.

We are currently recruiting for a number of Research Analysts to be responsible for collecting and analysing data and information for over 350 locations worldwide.

 

Analysts could be required to work in any of ECA’s production departments, producing essential resources for global mobility professionals such as:

 

  • Surveys of global variations in cost of living and accommodation
  • Software and reports to calculate and compare personal tax and social security liabilities
  • Pay and benefits data and policy benchmarking for international assignees
  • Analysis of family expenditure patterns based on official statistics from governments worldwide
